Youtube turns Five!!! February 15th, 2010
5 years ago Chad Hurley registered a URL that has revolutionized the way we see online videos… More than 20 hours of video are uploaded every minute on YouTube… Personally i think that if it wasn’t for YouTube, we might not be as far down the road as we are with online video…
From the YouTube Blog:
When we registered the YouTube domain on February 14, 2005, we set out to create a place where anyone with a video camera and an Internet connection could share a story with the world. Five years into it, we’re as committed as ever to the core beliefs and principles that guided YouTube’s creation…
Our goal? To set the standard in online video delivery. Fast loading, high quality videos need to be able to play on any device, anywhere, anytime. And whether we’re supporting 1080p, 3D, or deploying auto-speech recognition technology, we innovate with an eye toward providing the best possible experience for all of you.

Google’s Super Bowl Ad!!! February 8th, 2010
As hinted by Eric Schmidt, Google debuted a Super Bowl ad Sunday… The ad tells the story of a romance helped along by a series of Google searches conducted by (one is left to imagine) a young man whose simple plan to study abroad in Paris ends with his need to know how to assemble a crib…
Schmidt said in a post on the Google blog that the ad, “Parisian Love,” has been on YouTube for over three months and that the company decided “to share it with a wider audience.”
