The iPad 2 Review!!!
Over the last one year, Apple products have started playing a significant part in my daily life. So keeping this craze for Apple goods i ordered an iPad 2 the moment it was available in India. It took 10 days to arrive which isn’t bad considering the mammoth demand all across the world. I got the 32GB WIFI+3G model as i tend to travel due to my work..
I have been using it for 3 weeks now, here are some of my thoughts on it.
- The first thing you notice is how slim and light the device is. This actually makes it easier to hold now.
- The next thin you come across when using the product is how fast it runs. You don’t realize how fast it really is when using it for the first time, but when you compare it to other tablets in the market the speediness of the iPad 2 is clearly visible.
- Even the graphic performance is brilliant compared to other tablets. Just play Infinity Blade on it once and you won’t ever want to play it on the iPhone.
- The biggest drawback i would have to say is the camera. But if you have a nice camera phone like the iPhone 4 you probably won’t be using your 10 inch iPad to click holiday photos.
- I also got myself a smart cover for it. The cover itself is nice and slim. It looks like it is an integrated part of the iPad now. But when it comes to folding the cover back, it makes it quite difficult to hold the iPad. If you want to hold the ipad like that the best solution would be just to remove the cover. Additionally the cover does not provide protection for the back metal panel, whee while traveling you could easily get scratches and dents. But overall I feel its a nice improvement over the last times bulky cover.
Overall I love this device. I never expected to be this pleased with an Apple device. Still there are things which the iPad won’t be able to do. It’s just not comfortable to type on for long periods of time, however you can purchase a wireless Bluetooth keyboard for the iPad if you really must use an iPad for typing long blog posts or emails. Whilst the iPad has some great games, it doesn’t have all the same games that are available on consoles or computers.
The main benefit I derive from the iPad is that of convenience, and this is a big deal for me. But I still think this gadget is too expensive and definitely not something that most people can afford.
