Bing Gets Its Own (Not So Short) URL Shortener (FAIL)!!!

January 18th, 2010

bing logoLooks like Microsoft is also about to start a URL Shortening service…Its called Binged.it

Binged.it is not yet public and is currently available only for internal use… Bing’s employee @fareologist has been using binged.it to shorten URLs when tweeting…

I don’t see Binged.it gaining much traction… As compared to other URL Shortener its basically too long… Google’s shortener, goo.gl, is 5 characters. Facebook’s is 4 characters. Bing’s is 8 characters… Dunno why Microsoft decided to use a name which is longer than its original domain name (Bing.com)…

Now i feel its rightly said that sometimes Microsoft’s stupidity can reach AWESOME heights… ;)
